November 2022
Message from the Presidents

Welcome to November! We've enjoyed seeing so many of you at the fall festivities over the last month: the food truck festival, the K.I.S.S. events and the fall parties. We hope you're enjoying this return to a "normal" event calendar as much as we are! Below you'll find more information about this month's book fair, including a family shopping night, and the family movie night coming up in December. We hope to see you there!

If you have not already done so, please sign up for our online family directory here, or sign in and make sure your information is up to date for this year. As a reminder, this directory is the only means of obtaining parent contact information for birthday parties and playdates and offers other information you may need, such as a school year event calendar. If you have questions about the directory or anything else, please don't hesitate to reach out to us!

Sincerely,

Your PTO Co-Presidents

Alyona Tellez & Lisa Busse

It's Time For Family Movie Night!
Woodbrook Friends & Families,

Join us for a Friday night movie night to watch Disney’s latest movie "Strange World”! Woodbrook will have a private theatre at Regal Village Park Cinemas on December 2, 2022. Doors will open at 5:30. The movie will start at 6 PM. Check out the movie trailer below!

Seats are limited, so get your tickets now through the cheddar up Ticket Link below. Please DO NOT purchase tickets through another source. You will miss the opportunity to be in the Woodbrook reserved theatre. Please note this is not a drop off event. Adults must purchase tickets and attend with their student(s).

If any family is interested in attending and in need of a scholarship, please reach out to Mrs. Wischmeyer. This will be handled confidentially.
5th Grade Events...Volunteers Needed!

BIZTOWN - December 2nd 9am-1:30pm

Our BizTown experience is approaching, and we are looking for 32 parent volunteers to help make this experience a huge success for the kids.  As you may know, this is such an incredible business simulation for the children and a fun field trip to volunteer for.  Hannah Lane will be sending out the sign up genius on November 4th and it will be first come first serve for volunteer slots.

BizTown will be held on December 2nd, from 9am - 1:30pm at the Junior Achievement Center, 7435 Keystone Ave B, Indianapolis, IN 46240.  Volunteers will need to commit to the full time above and have a current background check completed prior to 12/2.  Please be on the lookout on 11/4 from an email from Hannah with the link to sign up for volunteering.

MORE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE:

  1.  5th Grade Graduation Video We are seeking a special volunteer or small group of individuals to create a video (photo montage to music) to be played at the 5th Grade Graduation in May.  Photos will be submitted by parents.  We wanted to get the ball rolling on this so that it can be worked on over the course of the school year rather than a mad dash at the end.
  2.  5th Grade Graduation Programs We need someone or a small group of individuals to design and prepare programs for 5th Grade Graduation in May.

If you are interested in the 5th grade program or graduation video volunteer opportunity, please reach out to Emily Winters (eriskwinters@gmail.com) or Erika Frantz (erika.frantz@att.net).

Woodbrook Spirit Wear Holiday 2022

Did you miss the back to school spirit wear sale?  Or do you need more Woodbrook Spirit Wear for you or your student(s)?  There will be another opportunity to buy for holiday gift giving.  There will be some repeat styles and some new cold weather gear.  Look for an email with more details and a link to shop in the next week!

RAISERIGHT GIFTCARD ORDERS

Let's get Shopping!
If you are familiar with Scrip - it's back again this year, but with a new name: RaiseRight.  When you purchase gift cards (for yourself or others) Woodbrook earns a percent of that purchase back.  The earnings come from the gift card brands you are purchasing.  There are over 750 popular brands to choose from, Amazon, Target, Starbucks, etc!

If you will be purchasing gift cards for friends, teachers, family over the upcoming holidays, please use RaiseRight to stock up and help benefit WBE in the process.

An order Form will be coming home with your children this week.  The order forms are due back Nov 21st, and all the gift cards will be delivered the week of 12/5/22.

Please reach out to Sarah Brown (sarah.a.hull@gmail.com) with any questions!  Thank you!

Important Reminder: Kids lose things… often! Our Lost & Found is already overflowing. Please be sure to write your child’s name in/on their belongings. This is especially helpful for jackets, hats, and gloves because they’re more likely to be removed. We’ve also been accumulating water bottles and lunch boxes.

You can come in to look through the Lost & Found if there’s something you know is missing. When it’s this full, we have to donate things after a couple months. We’ll do a complete clean-out before Winter Break.

Fall Party Volunteers

Thank you to all the parent/guardian volunteers that helped make the fall parties so successful!  The kids had a great time celebrating with parents and classmates.  Check out some of the pictures below!
